Dr Kongolo Kalumba

Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Clinical Haematologist
Dr Kalumba is a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Consultant Paediatrician and a Clinical Haematologist. He has broad experience in all paediatric conditions including neonatology, growth and development, asthma, infections, eczema, behavioural problems including ADHD & Autism Spectrum Disorders, and in particular specialized in blood disorders.
Background and Experience
Dr Kalumba trained as a paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, in addition to his previous paediatric training including Fellowship with the College of Medicine of South Africa. He undertook further training in Haematology in Melbourne at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Peter Mac Cancer Center and Melbourne Pathology, including Laboratory Medicine.
He is accredited with Cabrini, Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Waverly Private Hospital, Knox Private Hospital, Peninsula Private Hospital and The Bays Private Hospital. He also works as visiting specialist in numerous hospitals across Australia. He has strong interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors, in research, and has been involved in the number of publications.
Dr Kalumba had also practiced paediatrics in various countries including D.R Congo, Zambia, Lesotho and South Africa.
He speaks numerous other languages including French.
Mr Tom Clarnette
MBBS MD FRACS (Paeds)
Tom Clarnette is a respected and experienced Paediatric Surgeon who currently consults and operates publically at the Royal Children's Hospital, Monash Children's Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and Goulburn Valley Hospital in Shepparton and has private consulting and surgical sessions at Northpark Private Hospital in Bundoora. He has held his position as a consultant surgeon in the Department of Paediatric and Neonatal Surgery at The Royal Children's Hospital since 2004.
Mr Clarnette graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1988, before completing his surgical training in both South Australia and Victoria. At the conclusion of his paediatric surgical training, he undertook three and a half years of post-fellowship training in the United Kingdom. This included 18 months at Kings College Hospital, London, specialising in hepatobiliary surgery in children, which remains his key area of interest.
Today, Tom performs almost all of the paediatric hepatobiliary surgery in Melbourne and Victoria.

Prof Samuel Menahem

Consultant Paediatrician & Paediatric Cardiologist
Professor Samuel Menahem is a Consultant Paediatrician with extensive experience in General Paediatrics and Neonatology. In addition he has researched and published widely on the interface of Child Psychiatry and Paediatrics and has trained as a child Psychotherapist. He has a subspecialty of Paediatric Cardiology extending from the foetus to the adult with congenital heart disease.
He has held Consultant appointments at the Royal Children’s Hospital both as a Physician and Cardiologist, and at Monash Medical Centre as a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Cardiologist. He has previously headed the General Paediatric Unit and the Paediatric Cardiology Unit and was Foundation Co-Director of the Foetal Cardiac Unit at that institution. He continues to hold consultant appointments as a Paediatrician and Cardiologist at a number of teaching and private hospitals.
Professor Menahem has an illustrious academic career. He graduated as top of his year from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. He gained his specialist qualification to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians after completing his residency at the previous Prince Henry’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. His Membership was subsequently elevated to a Fellowship of that College. He also is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
He completed a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Melbourne and also a Master in Education (Higher education) from the same University, and a Master of Psychological Medicine from Monash University. He has held academic appointments at the University of Melbourne and remains a full Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health at Monash University being a member of a number of its Departments. He continues to teach and mentor students and graduates from both universities and also teaches at Deakin University. He has also been a Visiting Professor and/or Examiner to institutions overseas and has presented and lectured at National and International Meetings. He continues to be active especially in clinical research and has an extensive publication list.
Professor Menahem now spends most of his time in consultant practice at his main rooms in Caulfield. He also consults at the Monash Medical Centre, and continues to conduct teaching clinics in Warragul, Traralgon and Horsham. Although his referral base is from the surrounding areas with a dedicated referral pattern, his reputation has extended far and wide with referrals from other parts of Melbourne, country areas and even interstate. Many of his patients have stayed with him since infancy into adult life including many women with congenital heart disease who he has successfully cared for during their pregnancies.
In addition to the consultations, which are always done encompassing a holistic approach, he is able to provide detailed cross-sectional echocardiography, electrocardiograms and holter monitoring at his Caulfield rooms where required for his patients. He organises to present data of any paediatric patient arising from his practice who is being considered for cardiac surgery at the Combined Cardiac Surgical Meeting at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Any adult patient with congenital heart disease that may require intervention is discussed with the best surgeons/electrophysiologists etc, either in Melbourne or at other centres in Australia or overseas.
Dr Ahmad Mansour Ahmad

Dr Ahmad is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Consultant Paediatrician. He completed his paediatric training in Australia and is currently working as staff specialist at Warragul Hospital. Previously he had worked in different hospitals in Victoria including the Royal Children's Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.
Dr Ahmad has wide experience in managing various general paediatric conditions such as infant feeding & growth, food intolerance, asthma, eczema, bowel and bladder issues, sleep related disorders, migraine, epilepsy, developmental delay, diagnosis & management of autism, ADHD & other behavioural conditions.
Sport, travel, reading and spending fun time with his three children.
In addition to English, Dr Ahmad speaks Arabic.

Dr Ian Humphrey
Consultant Paediatrician & Allergist
Dr Ian Humphrey was born and grew up in Melbourne. He graduated from the Melbourne University in 1974 and most of his paediatric training was done in Melbourne. He then practiced as a Consulting Paediatrician in Gippsland for three years and then in Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Ian returned to Melbourne in 1996 and worked as a visiting specialist in the allergy department at the Royal Children's Hospital from 1996 to 2013 and in private Paediatric Allergy practice with his rooms in Clayton. He is now in full time Paediatric Allergy.
Ian is a Fellow of the Royal Australiasian College of Physicians and Full Member of the Australiasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy, and the European Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Dr Khaing Wai

Dr Wai is a compassionate and enthusiastic general paediatrician. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Master of Public Health (Monash University) and Diploma in Child Health (University of Sydney). She achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians through her training at Child and Adolescent Health Service, Western Australia.
Referrals for various medical, behavioural and developmental paediatric patients are all welcomed, including not limited to, newborns, feeding difficulties, sleeping difficulties, poor growth, seizures, developmental delay, asthma, eczema, allergy, incontinence, constipation, infectious disease and immigrant health.
Being a mother of a young infant herself, Dr Wai has a good understanding of the challenges of parenting and the importance of a quality health care for children. She is very passionate about doing her best for the patients and being a caring advocate for children.
Dr Wai is fluent in both English and Burmese language.
Ms Shu Lin Pook
Shu Lin graduated from the University of Newcastle in New South Wales with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Following her graduation, she undertook a position in Tasmania and worked as a dietitian at the Mersey Community Hospital and the North West Regional Hospital.
Her experience in Tasmania groomed her passion in paediatric nutrition especially in the areas of eating disorders, feeding disorders, fussy eating, food allergies, weight management, poor growth and infant nutrition. She continues to pursue her interests in paediatric nutrition and has completed a Certificate in Paediatric Dietetics from the Royal Children's Hospital, Victoria.
Following her move from ‘The Apple Isle’ to Melbourne to spend time with her family, she has worked in the Monash Medical Centre in Clayton and in the Northern Hospital, as an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Shu Lin’s long time of working with children in the community and in tertiary hospitals has equipped her with the experience to manage children of all ages, from new born infants through to adolescents.

Deidre is an experienced and caring Paediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who is the Principal of Melbourne Speech and Language Services. She specialises in working with children and students from
0 -25 with all manner of language difficulties and disabilities.
Deidre is experienced in working with children who have a diagnosis of Specific Language Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome and Global Developmental Delay. Deidre is trained in using Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and is Hanen Certified.

Educational & Developmental Psychologist
Belinda Dan – is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, qualified teacher, and Director of Connecting Kids. Belinda has worked in both primary and secondary school settings as a psychologist for more than 7 years, and has been in private practice for more than 10 years.
Belinda is passionate about working with children and their families to provide individualised support. Belinda enjoys conducting assessments to work out what is going on for the child, and then developing strategies to target their needs, to help them reach their potential.
Belinda loves learning, and believes that learning is a life-long experience. She loves attending professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and learning about more resources that are available. Belinda is also trained to deliver the Cogmed program, which is an evidence-based cognitive training program for anyone who wants to sustainably improve their working memory capacity.
Belinda developed Kids Book Therapy, a website that aims to help children to further develop their social and emotional skills through books, activities and reflective questions.
Ms Julia Goh
Ms Julia Goh is our experienced Practice Manager having assumed this role in January 2017.
Julia brings with her more than 17 years of experience as Office & Administration Manager, Business Executive, Personal Assistant, Confidential Secretary and Administrator in various industries in Australia and Malaysia such as publication, farming, manufacturing, academia and healthcare.
Her experiences also include assisting overseas investors in start-up operations in Melbourne. She had served in a public-listed company managing the office of Chief Executive Officer with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar. In her previous roles, she had conducted surveys on new business opportunities in Japan and Taiwan.
Julia holds a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Portsmouth, UK. She has great passion for music in piano having qualified the examination conducted by The Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, England.
